Brightmore Capital offers a unique opportunity to students and mid-career professionals with interest in impact investing and frontier market PE/VC. In Dakar or remotely, Fellows are immersed in the dynamic field of impact investing, gaining insight of both the African and global contexts.

Engagement Options

There are three primary options with the Brightmore Fellows program that differ in the degree of physical presence, intensity of work, and autonomy:

  • Full-Time Onsite in Dakar

  • Remote Part-Time Fellowship

  • Independent Project

Position Types

Brightmore Capital offers several types Fellow positions. These classifications reflect the primary area of interest for each Fellow, with everyone having an opportunity to engage in all key areas of impact PE/VC fund work, but with areas of concentration reflective of the majority of assignments that one is planning to take on.

Investment Fellow

  • Conducting market research

  • Managing databases of deal opportunities and relevant relationships

  • Reviewing potential investments

  • Supporting due diligence

  • Creation/updating investment materials

  • Write news briefs, articles, and reports

Financial Analyst Fellow

  • Analysis of investment financials

  • Modelling of projections and growth

  • Valuation of potential investments

  • Analysis pertaining to deal structuring (coverage ratios, projected IRRs, etc.)

  • Sensitivity and risk analysis, risk modeling for prospective investments

Impact Fellow

  • Analysis for alignment to UN SDGs

  • Evaluate impact generated by business models of prospective investments

  • Impact potential through the value chain

  • Analysis of portfolio impact performance

  • Research and thought leadership within the global impact investment community
